I moved to Toronto 25 years ago as a musician drawn by the number and variety of live music venues, the concentration of music industry and media, the matchless history of the place, and above all by the vibrancy and energy of the entire music scene. Now, as one of the organizers of NXNE, I value Toronto's live music culture maybe even more than I did when I made my living as a musician myself. From the passion of its fans to the dedication of its club owners to the experience of its industry leaders and the vision, creativity and commitment of the artists it attracts and fosters, the city is unique in North America. Toronto's live music scene must be more celebrated within and absolutely promoted beyond the city. Our music is a calling card that can entice and inspire the world.
