As an organization dedicated to providing international opportunities for young and talented hit makers, we were excited to hear about the 4479 initiative and its efforts to raise the profile of music at City Hall. By and large our city has the most incredible pool of talent in the world. However, without the infrastructure, much of the world has never heard of us in the way that they they should. Thanks to support from the Music City campaign, our recent international music producer showcase at SXSW 2014 was transformed from a 'Canadians in Texas showcase' into a ‘must-see’ sold-out event. We turned a $1000 donation into a $150K success. We credit this in part to the support we received from Councillor Josh Colle, the 4479 initiative and the Mayor's office, who championed our work leading up to our arrival in Austin. Since our event, we’ve had coverage in major music publications, established new relationships with industry power brokers and created a buzz about Toronto talent from record labels and companies across North America and Europe. It’s these types of successes for organizations like ours that will contribute to the establishment of Toronto’s reputation as a world-class music capital.”
